Je ne comprends pas.

Why doesn't my mum understand that these shoes are amazing?

I blogged about the full leather a while ago, but I love love love the ones with the silver detail.

Tres jealouse of everybody who owns a pair.

Interview with Benna Harry

When did you first realise you wanted to get into working with jewellery?

I was 19. I had finished a drama course in Liverpool. I thought if I’m really serious about this I’d have to go to RADA. I started making jewellery and selling it and thought I quite like this, and did a course in it in Manchester and then moved to London to do a degree in jewellery making.

After finishing your course what did u go on to do then?

I actually got into styling. I assisted a girl who was doing music videos, and she couldn’t make it to do it one day so I got asked to do it instead of her and it really took off from there.

How long were you styling for?

I was styling for 6 years and in between then I set up St. Tropez Underwear Company (named after a Bridget Bardot song) with my best friend – CSM graduate Sarah Fung.

What advice would you give to somebody who wants to get into styling?

Bang on loads of doors, just make yourself available. Try and get as much experience as possible. Go and assist people on shoots, don’t bother doing a course in it.

When did you get back into jewellery ?

To be honest, I never really left it – I always collected and bought costume pieces – like Lanvin, Chanel and vintage pieces. When I moved back to Liverpool I didn’t know what I was going to do so I set up the website, I hadn’t been here for such a long time, and I had to slot in somewhere; the place had changed so much, I had to find something to do.

Where are the best places to pick up vintage jewellery?

Jewellery Fairs throughout Europe, especially Paris. There are some amazing Flea Markets if you really look around.

Who are your favourite jewellery designers?

I like Lydia Courteille, Anina Vogel and Jessica McCormack.

And Fashion designers?

I love Chloe and Kirsty Doyle

What are the key pieces in your wardrobe?

Ankle boots are so comfortable, they are so easy to wear and can really make an outfit. I love my Rick Owens leather jacket and I’ve got loads of Chloe dresses – it’s such a wearable brand.

What is the most expensive item of clothing you own?

I bought a dress from Chanel which was £2,200. It’s a Flapper Style, with a camellia on the front. I did have a reason to spend that much money though! I bought it for my dad’s 60th and my sister’s 40th, because we were having a huge party for them.

Where your favourite stores you buy your clothes from?

I’ve bought a few pieces from Matches and Start. I buy a lot of vintage, and the Cricket sale is really good.

Hey pretty girlies!

Happy friday, how are you all!?

I think I'm getting my groove on down in Paris town as of next Friday morning..

Ergo, I need a shit-hot new wardrobe.

Yesterday, I finally succumbed to the new Topshop in Liverpool and had a really thorough look round.

It is amazing. It really is. I think I've got about 10 pieces from Topshop in my wardrobe - maximum. Thinking about it, I don't think I've even got that many.

However, this store has an unreal selection throughout it's four floors. FOUR FLOORS!

Alack, I did some serious mooching yesterday about what I would buy as soon as my student loan appears in my bank account, because according to Benna, we need to go super dressed up.

Regarding footwear, I'm thinking ankle boots galore to get me round Paris.

Inevitably this post is containing solely Topshop pieces I have my eye on.

I know what you're thinking: It's a pretty simple wardrobe.

However, my thinking behind it is that I thought I'd go for a pretty classic look because I don't want to look back at photos and be like, what-the-hell-was-I-wearing.

Right chicas I'm off to make a cup of tea, have a good day!

London Fashion Week: 21/09

So on Monday I went to London for Fashion Week with Benna, from the online jewellery store (check it out - there are some beautiful things on there.)

This year it was held at Somerset House, which is a lovely location for it to be in; really spacious and a really nice setting.

We received a pack and a pass when we got there, so we could actually go around and look at the spaces that the designers present their products in, because you need a pass to get in anywhere basically.

In the main building the highlights for me were Sass and Bide, Eley Kishimoto, Dominic Jones (I swiped a business card - I just couldn't help myself) Zoe and Morgan (who were really lovely).

Sadly we didn't have tickets to watch the shows, but the atmosphere was so good, everywhere was buzzing, there were some really extravagant characters to look at; it was amazing, I really enjoyed my first Fashion Week of many to come hopefully!

Celebrity Spotting:
Zandra Rhodes - being straw fed a bottled of elderflower water
Caryn Franklin
Alex Curran - looking incredibly tall in Christian Louboutin Leopard Print ankle boots.
Jason Gardener from Celebrity Come Ice Dancing With Me or whatever it's called.
Not technically a celebrity, but blogger Frassy.

Fashion Week was so fun, fingers crossed I'll be going to Paris Fashion Week in a couple of weeks time!

Check it out!

I've just been on and seen I've got a proper link to my blog!

Any clues about who the chick is would be much appreciated!

Writing and drinking Miso in bed.

What a perfect sunday.

What are you all up to today?

A little (blurry) piccy of the Christopher Kane Tee in all its glory.

Not actually in all its glory. It's much more glorified on the model in the pictures below.

I Would Buy

I've always been fascinated with Lourdes, and I mean that in the least weird way ever.

I just think she is so beautiful.

Madonna doesn't really bother me. I don't especially like her, but I don't especially hate her.

Her daughter however really has something about her.

I think it's her eyebrows. Look at them! Perfect! We know how thickthickthick mine are - maybe too thick actually but I can't help my love and need for huge brows.

I don't think anybody should pluck theirs, just let them grow free. I'm not going to let my daughter pluck/wax hers, only the odd stray hairs.

Anyway, this isn't a beauty post.

Back to little Lourdes.

She's had her own style going on for a while; quite punkish with a fashion edge.

How amazing does she look here.

and here.. (excuse her mum)
and here..

Just lovely. Natural beauty.

Schwarzkopf Review

This review is long over due but I’ve had so much going on over the past week or so I haven’t had a huge amount of time to write. I’ve only had chance to read through my favourite blogs really.

Lisa from Immediate PR emailed me asking if I would like to do a review of the NEW BC HAIRTHERAPY from Schwarzkopf and of course, I said yes.

This is a new range that is being launched with the idea in mind that people need to treat their hair with the same love they treat their skin, by using Amino Cell Rebuild technology to build up the hair’s inner cell architecture to restore the hair to it’s natural state.

I got sent three products in a lovely big box. It was like a super early Christmas present. I also got an apple-flavoured lollipop along with it, all which was polished off within about 10 minutes of receiving the package.

So I received the following products:

Volume Boost Shampoo and Conditioner for fine hair

Repair Rescue Sealed Ends

So first off the Volume Boost Shampoo and Conditioner made my hair smell absolutely amazing.

I asked to review this because my hair is pretty thin at the moment. Because I’m growing it, and it started off as a pixie cut, you can imagine how short my hair is.

I blow dry my hair and put two rollers in the front of my hair everyday do try and give it the boost I really want. The shampoo and conditioner actually helped. I felt I didn’t need as much hair spray as usual to give my hair that bounce which is pretty good.

So before drying my hair, I worked the Repair Rescue through it, as this is supposed to seal the ends of my hair, preventing split ends, or helping to fix them if you have any to start off with.

Luckily, because I don’t used straighteners my hair isn’t in too bad a condition, but I felt the Repair Rescue has given my hair a little bit more strength and my mum said that it has never looked more healthy.

I would recommend these products to people, especially to my friends who straighten their hair every day.

For more information on the new range go to either

or contact Lisa at Immediate PR on

Sunday Sunday

My head is in a bit of a pickle at the moment about many things.

What should I wear with my Russell and Bromley Brogues?
What should I write about for theewebsite?
I have a new Schwarzkopf review today, so I think a lot of my time will be dedicated to doing that.
What boots can I buy for uni?
I have many more pickles but I feel I do not want to bore you.
Have a lovely sunday ladies.
I'm off to wash my hair, have a roast dinner and watch Adventure Land. Have any of you seen it? I have high expectations.

Thursday, 10 September 2009

So my head has got to thinking that I am going to get myself an incredible pair of booted wedges for winter, to wear with dark denim so I don't look so stumpy standing next to one of my friends who I go to Uni with everyday, who is very tall and very beautiful.

The pair that is stuck in my head is the acne hoof boots.

It's killing me that they are £335 but Polyvore just made me sad by pretending they were £82. Mean.

I'm contemplating buying them with my student loan. Argh
