Look what I made!

I was snooping around some tumblrs the other day, (which btw is my new favourite thing to do, and maybe also the reason why the blog has become so stale recently.. ) and saw a picture of some of those square shape Creoles wrapped in tribal fabric and absolutely loved them.

I had a brainwave and decided to copy and make use of my minty earrings that seem to fade to black from the lovely ghetto gold they begin their tacky little life as.

I saw a snippet of fabric draped over my radiator that was from a larger piece of fabric I took to Benicassim with me three years running which a used as a top; a little risque looking back now, and needless to say the material is pretty dirty now, but it was the perfect size to use to make these little babies!

I'm not going to tell you any little tips on how the best way is to make them as they're pretty simple to do; I'm rubbish at customising stuff, plus I ripped the idea off somebody else anyway.

Apologise for the rushed photos; I'm off for a doggy play-non-date with Ernesto, @MACundefeated and my two little baby girls Coco and Lola.

I think that episode of Friends was the birth-place of the Man-Bag. Remember the little dialogue between Rachel and Joey? Good tymz.

Supreme Sweater
Savile Row Company Shirt
Topshop Shorts
Proenza Schouler Satchel
Happy Socks (because I like to buy into a bit of harmless hype every now and then)
Vans Authentic
Persol Sunnies (Roll on Bethany starting her new job in the dopest opticians you'll ever see. See what I did there? Oops and again)

Yeah but will it live up to the first one?

I couldn't believe how good The Hangover was when I first watched it at the cinema; somebody who I knew who happened to be there at the same screening had said they'd heard me laughing throughout the film. I've got a really bad laugh, so no doubt I ruined the film for everybody; kinda like a Seagull at an Adam Sandler movie

Anyway, I just saw the trailer for The Hangover 2, and I'm a bit dubious of how good the film is going to be, will it live up to the first?

Beautiful Summer Sounds

So this is about the fourth day in the last fortnight that's it's been sunny in Holland.

Also, it's *officially* light when I leave the flat at about 7:30 in the morning, and still *officially* light when I'm on the train home at about 6:00 at night.

Summer is coming.

C/O Miss E.C.A.D

Don't know why I've got the biggest photo - looks like I'm being a bit of a tit because of it.

Nicole Fox-y

It's funny, because as I've gotten older, I've started to appreciate things that I was ashamed of as I was growing up.

What am I talking about?

My red hair.

My first holiday was a trip to Hong Kong when I was 18 months old, and apparently those guys didn't realise what hit them when I bounced off the plane, a thick head of dark red hair in tow. I think I got quite a positive reaction; they'd never seen anybody in real life with hair my colour.

As I grew into my teenage years, I got a bit of stick for being a red-head. I don't mind the term red-head, but I'm most definitely not g*nger.

That word offends the shit out of me; the only time I refer to that word is when I call myself Gi-Chi - G*nger/Chinese, because I also happen to be part faux-riental.

I dyed my hair a lot from about 16-19, but for the past three years or so, I've been au-naturel, apart from a stint during Summer 2010 when I dyed my hair jet black. Bit of a mad one that, looking back now.

I've grown to love red hair on girls; just look at Isla Fisher, Lois Griffin and Faye Reagan (but just don't look at her in work)

Anyway, I just caught the last episode of one of the cycles of America's Next Top Model; I'm not sure which season, I'm not as up-to-date on ANTM as I'd like to be.

The winner was Nicole Fox, and funnily enough, she was an absolute FOX.

So here is Ms. Fox - the inspiration behind this post.

Amazing, no?

So girls, if you've got red hair, then embrace it; it's actually boss.

When I put my iTunes on shuffle it has the tendency and capacity to blow my mind and brighten up an otherwise chilly Amsterdam evening.

Take three minutes and fifty six seconds out to give this a listen to.

February One

It was about this time last year when I started to dress only in black and white, with the allowance of colour being an American Apparel hoody.

It started off by coincidence; a lot of my new clothes just happened to be black and white, but then I really got into it, and consciously started only buying clothes in these two colours. It lasted for a fair while, but it kind of felt like I was wearing a uniform - black leggings/leather skinnies with oversized white t-shirts and vests with lots and lots of silver jewellery, and usually accompanied by my Alexander Wang bag.

Ah, the thoughts of these outfits take me back to Spring/Summer 2010 (totally not on trend, I know) and hanging round Liverpool One after finishing work, then walking up Upper Parliament Street in the sun with the "Creative Collective" of School and Manesty's Lane.

Anyway, I phased myself out of it towards the end of the Summer, and by the time I moved to Amsterdam, I was back to normal, and not feeling averse to including colour into my wardrobe.

Not that I wear pure flamboyant colours - if I wear a bright shoe, I'll try and dress the rest of my outfit down.

Saying that, I've got this bright turquoise Nike SB Rucksack I use for work, and that kinda goes with nothing, so I have to discount that from any sartorial choices.

However, over the past couple of days, I've felt myself slipping back into it this black and white haze, mixed in with quite a lot of grey; I think you can get the gist of the colour palette.

Anyway, I had it in my mind tonight to create a little outfit post, and would you believe it, it's all black and white.

A.L.C Shirt
Miu Miu Purse
Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Boots (I'd take these over the JC Litas anyday)
T By Alexander Wang Bandage Skirt
Dominic Jones Ring (Absolutely love his sh't)
Mac Lippy - Not sure of the name

I like the subtle sexiness of the shirt, contrasting against the beautifully ugly O.C platforms. The shirt is very sleek; very Michelle Pfieffer in Scarface.

On a side note, I've had a busy few days; my gorgeous Mama has been visiting me, so haven't had a massive amount of time to do proper posts or any kind of outfits, and then my gorgeous girlfriends are visiting over the weekend so again, I'll have another busy few days with them.

Hopefully tomorrow I might be able to put together some kind of outfit post, I've managed to buy a fair few things over the past couple of weeks - Hello Monki sales!
