Hairband - American Apparel off my Mummy for my Birthday
T-shirt - Topshop
Velvet Leggings - H&M
Jordans (How massive do they look?? They're 5.5 UK!)

Hey Beautiful people - I hope you are all well.

I've been an awful blogger of late; I've been very busy, work is going rather swimmingly at the moment, it was my six month anniversary today. It was meant to be my last day today, but I've been kept on.

So, what's new?

I have a couple of outfit posts to share, I've been taking pictures here and there, but not doing proper posts, so I might split them up, to make it look like I actually write a fashion blog.

The weather in Amsterdam is really brightening up, Summer really is in the air. I even saw some blossom on a tree this evening. I can't wait to see this city during Summer time.

Ooh! I knew I had news to tell you!

Ironic Fashion has teamed up with and we are in the process of creating an online mini-store. Expect many brands I've featured over the past couple of years; Comme des Garçons, Acne, Alexander Wang, and of course, my fave, Happy Socks!

Hopefully the store will be going up soon, but here's a few of the items I've chosen.

There is also a voucher code I've been supplied with, which is in the box to the left of this post, so if you order anything, type in IRONIC20 and you shall receive 20% off!

Good times!

Right my pretties, a couple of outfit posts on the way!

Rick Genest

I admire the way Nicola Formichetti took a bit of a risk making Rick Genst his "muse" for his upcoming collection for Mugler, or at least admitting he took inspiration from his appearance/persona/external perception of him. Admit is the wrong word to use there; he made no secret of the fact that this beautifully tattooed man was a turning point for an entire collection.

I've had a weird fascination with this guy over the past few days. After reading that Nicola tracked him down through Facebook, I too, tracked him down through Facebook and was very close to adding him.

The top photo I've included is my favorite from this selection I found; I think it's really beautiful in a weird way.

Bare with me as you read this, but I think that in some of the photos he manages to look almost delicate, but in that photo where he's got the black coat on, he looks like he's about to go f'ck sh't up, and he's not letting nobody get in his way.

I'd probably get out the way for him like.

I'm bang into the way one guy can change the direction of a brand.

One year older and none the wiser.

This time last year, I was celebrating with the dopest people in Liverpool.

Tonight I'll be eating Soul Food with the dopest people in Amsterdam.

The sun is shining; it's the first day of Spring; all is well.

River Island Jeans Swap for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

Being a fashion blogger can be tough. The UK Fashion Blogging scene is pretty diverse and densely-populated, so it's easy to feel like a little fish in the proverbial big pond.

One of the good things about being a Liverpool-based fashion blogger, is the fact that there aren't too many Liverpool-based fashion blogs. Obviously you've got the girls over at Hoy, Eugene at Style Transition and a few other beauties floating around*, but because there aren't a lot of bloggers, we are more like bigger fishes in a small pond, and I mean that in the least narcissistic way.

Obviously now I've moved to Amsterdam, I'm an even smaller and technically shorter (the average female height here is ridiculous and I'm 5'7) fish, in an Acne wearing, European styling, luxury brand wearing, well, Canal, I suppose. That sentence is a bit of a mess sorry, so I apologise if it's as difficult to read as it was to construct.

Anyway, because I was one of the few Liverpool-based bloggers, about a month ago, I was contacted by River Island telling me about an exciting event that was going to be happening at their Church Street Store in Liverpool. They couldn't tell me too much about it - it was pretty much under wraps, so I had to politely tell them that sadly I no longer live in the Pool of Life, but I'd be more than happy to talk about it when they revealed more.

I'm not going to lie; I've not got a lot of common sense. I've got a lot of common knowledge, but I can be a proper dope at times. About two weeks ago, I saw on somebody's Facebook status, "They're giving away jeans at River Island when you bring your old ones in - amazing!" It got a lot of attention with girls saying they'd been down and seen what was going on, or that they were going to go to the store to see what all the fuss was about.

For some reason, I didn't add two and two and realise that this secret event that River were keeping under wraps was the Jeans Swap.

The lovely ladies who first contacted me got back in touch to let me know how successful the day was - over 150 girls and boys and swapped their old jeans for new pairs, donating the old ones to the charity, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

The whole concept is a bit different, you're helping out a charity, but getting something back too.

Watch this video, it actually is really good - and fair play to everybody just getting changed in the street; there's no WAY I would take my trousers off in the middle of Church Street. (Just a shame about the default image on the video)

It's campaigns like this that help generate awareness, in a light-hearted way. Girls have to be there to support each other!

For more info, check out the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer site. I think we've all been affected by Breast Cancer in some way; I know I have - the first time you find out somebody you love has it is the most horrible feeling in the world, but it's outweighed by the feeling of relief and joy you get once you learn that the person is officially in remission.

You don't know how much of a ball-ache Firefox has been to create.

Not sure how many of you are into Rockmelt? I think it's pretty cool; been using it for a couple of months now, it's pretty useful for managing your social platforms and creating streams from your favorite sites.

My two cents on the Galliano debaucle.

I spend a lot of time on Twitter.

I prefer to refresh my Twitter feed rather than my Facebook feed. Not that I don't like to see how hungover my friends are on a Sunday morning, or How FABBBBBBB!! their ones are xxxxxx (maybe a Scouse thing), I prefer to read what people's 140 character thoughts are from across the globe, not just my limited network of the UK and Amsterdam.

Don't get me wrong; I follow a lot of sh't Twitters. Some would say Sh'tters. Nobody says that; I just made it up.

Anyway, as I happen to write a fashion blog, I follow a lot of fashion bloggers' Twitter accounts, and through one account I happened to stumble upon the link to a video which was on the S'n website. Scousers don't write the proper name of that newspaper; y'all should know why.

Again, anyway, said video happened to be John Galliano slurring, over a glass of wine in the once hyped, now infamous, La Perle Cafe.

What he said shouldn't be repeated, and it most definitely wont get written on this blog by me, even just to transcribe what his words were as he repeatedly offended a group of girls.

As he spoke, I genuinely couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth. One of the most respected fashion designers in the world, praising possibly one of the most hated men to ever have existed and then to talk in such a derogatory way about human beings who happen to be of a certain faith? To me, it just doesn't make sense.

It's 2011.

How can people genuinely have this oppression towards other religions in this day and age.

For a man so creatively brilliant; a genius of his field, for him to have these thoughts, it's just something that doesn't add up. While he's laughing at the money he is making, while the wealthy buy his designs, and I'm not being funny or anything, some Jewish people tend to have quite a bit of money. Do you think he was shuddering, as he put pen to paper, to illustrate his ideas, that certain people might buy his designs?

And so, it was revealed two days ago that he had been sacked from the House of Christian Dior.

And in my opinion, and many others out there, rightfully so.

Let's face it though, he's not going to jail, and that 23 grand fine he's getting, not to use as corny line as this blog post title, but that's just spare change to him.

It's instances like this, which really shock the world to see that people still have these prejudices. It really is ridiculous.

OH! And I read he's checking his ass into rehab? What for Johnny G? That guna clear your mind of such archaic views, it guna make you see the light? Na man, don't B.S a B.Ser.

Sorry to end on a light-hearted note, but the bets are on for who his predecessor is going to be. I just wonder what the late, great Dior would think of all this.

What shame. Beautiful brand, brilliant designer, disgusting words.

Sorry for all the hate in this, I just wanted to voice my opinions.
